A steep hill from front to back dominated this backyard and had to be integrated into the design. This was achieved by creating a natural wall of armour stone and plantings to allow room for the pool and patio. Beautiful stone steps greet guests as they enter the backyard from the upper level. An existing hot tub was moved into a more private area beside the house. The entire pool patio was done in concrete using a natural stone pattern to accent the armour stone retaining wall. An existing garden and tool shed at the rear of the property also had to be implemented into the design. This was done by creating a new outdoor kitchen/living area with elements of natural stone and wood to give the structure a ‘rustic’ feel. This was in keeping with the rustic barn feel of the existing garden and tool shed.
